While most people think of the traditional metal brackets and wires when someone talks about braces, the reality is that there’s been an upgrade in the materials used to make braces and how braces function. Here is a brief description of the kinds of braces that Dr. Gutiérrez uses for his patients.
These braces use brackets, wires, and elastics to position teeth. They have been refined over the years and are now made of stronger, lighter material, so they are much more comfortable to wear. These braces are usually made of stainless steel.
While all orthodontic treatment is customized for patients, your braces can be made just for you too. Some braces can be designed for optimal comfort and performance by using 3D imaging software that can map exactly how each tooth should be positioned.

These appliances are an attractive option for teenagers and adult patients. Dr. Gutiérrez takes measurements and X-rays of your mouth and teeth, and then send them to an imaging lab, which determines a course of treatment. Once the treatment has been approved, a set of clear plastic aligners is made specifically for your teeth. They’re clear, removable, and allow you to eat and drink whatever you’d like.

These braces use tieless brackets, making them nearly invisible. The no-tie system means that you won’t undergo uncomfortable tightening appointments for your braces. They’re also much easier to clean than traditional metal braces, and they promote a quicker treatment period. The results are proven to be better than other metal braces and they’re steadily gaining in popularity.
